2024 IESO FIRST NATIONS ENERGY SYMPOSIUM
The 8th Annual First Nations Energy Symposium is fast approaching. Brought to you by the Independent Electricity System Operator, this event brings together First Nation leaders and community members from across Ontario for two days of collaboration, story-telling and cultural celebration.
Announcing this year’s keynote speakers!
Day one of the Symposium kicks off with a keynote address from the newly elected Grand Council Chief Linda Debassige, Anishinabek to set an inspiring tone for the event.
Also joining us on day one is award-winning author and member of Sweetgrass First Nation, Kendal Netmaker, to provide his thoughts on resilience, leadership, and the power of storytelling to drive organizational change.
Day two starts with a motivational keynote address from Ontario Regional Chief Abram Benedict, who will shed light on how First Nations are driving energy resilience through innovative, community-led energy projects, which promises to be an inspiring address on shaping the future of energy!
Stan Wesley is back again as our Kahnekahnekahtahk with his dynamic presence, sharp wit, and exceptional personality. We’re looking forward to having Stan guide us along with humour and energy over the two days. His engaging style is sure to make the Symposium both memorable and enjoyable.
There’s more to be announced in the coming weeks, including interactive panel discussions, Indigenous arts and crafts vendors and live entertainment, so stay tuned to the event website.
We look forward to seeing you there!
