Alvin Fiddler, a member of Muskrat Dam First Nation previously served as NAN Grand Chief for 2 terms from 2015 to 2021 following several terms as Deputy Grand Chief. He was acclaimed Grand Chief in 2023, and was re-elected at the NAN Keewaywin Chiefs Assembly in 2024. 

His leadership priorities focus on systems transformation including health and child welfare, and advocating for improvements in education, housing, infrastructure, and access to clean water. He is also committed to justice reform, and the assertion and recognition of First Nations' treaty rights in land and resource development with Ontario and Canada.
