First Green Energy
Founder

Mike Carter brings over 25 years of renewable energy expertise, with a deep-rooted commitment to Indigenous empowerment and community economic development. As founder of First Green Energy Ltd., Mike has led transformative projects in solar, microgrids, energy storage, and hydroelectric development.

His current focus on agrivoltaics integrates solar into farming, supporting dual-use land practices that benefit agricultural and energy productivity alike, and most importantly finds broad support needed to accelerate the deployment of a new generation of electricity projects.

Mike has worked with and continues to support various Federal agencies on domestic and international solar and sustainable initiatives tied to technological innovation, green mining, international development and solar recycling.

Mike actively supports Indigenous leadership in the energy industry with continued participation in the ICE Network Catalyst 20/20 program and currently participating in the Generation Power internship program. His commitment to sustainable, community-driven energy projects comes from a belief that now is the time for capacity utilization to catalyze a better structure for indigenous owned and controlled energy infrastructure projects.
