Land Acknowledgement

The IESO acknowledges that the First Nations Energy Symposium, in partnership with CIBC, is taking place on the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

As we welcome attendees from across Ontario to the Symposium, we also recognize and honour all of the traditional territories throughout the province, including those of the Algonquin, Anishinabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Métis peoples.

This acknowledgement reflects the spirit of the Symposium, a space for respectful dialogue, shared learning, and collaboration in support of Indigenous leadership in the energy sector.
