The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) works at the heart of Ontario’s power system. It delivers essential services across the electricity sector, including real-time operation of the power grid, long-term energy planning, support for energy efficiency, and the design of a more efficient electricity marketplace to meet the province’s evolving needs.

Across Ontario, Indigenous communities are increasingly shaping the future of energy. From advancing energy efficiency and developing generation projects to participating in major transmission initiatives, Indigenous leadership is helping to drive innovation and sustainability, grounded in cultural values and environmental stewardship.

The IESO is committed to meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities. Through collaboration and dialogue, we aim to raise awareness of emerging energy needs and promote economic reconciliation by supporting fair, equitable, and inclusive participation in Ontario’s electricity sector.
